STORY OF AN ARTIST
December 2018, I discovered acrylic pouring and immediately became hooked on this very addictive form of artistry.
There are many great fluid artists "out there" and I've gathered inspiration from each one if them. Rinske Douna inspired me to try her Dutch Pour technique. Mely D inspired me to try puddle-pours and use the cloud effect to make fluffy-puffy-looking pieces. Julie Cutts inspired me to try her ghost-swipe. But the very first inspiration I received was from Mixed Media Girl...from her I learned what a dirty pour was...how to do a flip cup...how to do a tree-ring. To all these wonderful women I say THANK YOU.
I believe it's important to acknowledge the talents of other Artists and even though this section of my website is supposed to be About Me, I have to give credit where it's due....I would not be the Artist I am today were it not for these talented ladies mentioned above.
Creating abstract art, using various fluid art techniques, is exciting to me because it’s so unpredictable! You have SOME control, but not 100%. And no two pieces will ever be the same! Sometimes I create “sets” but each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind.
I love bringing something new, original and beautiful into the world!
I love seeing other people's reactions to my creations.
And of course I love seeing my pieces in other peoples' homes/offices.
Branching out from creating wall art, I also create jewelry (pendants and earrings) and key-rings; again each is one-of-a-kind and they make wonderful gifts, especially for that “hard to buy for person” who “has everything”.
